COMMANDERS MESSAGE --- LARRY SULLIVAN
Hello, everyone, Welcome to July Happy 250 Birthday to our great country, to celebrate the 4th of July we will be open to the public and have Rollin’ Fire Pizza truck available 4:00 to 7:00. Work will begin 6 July on our kitchen drainage issues, we will seal the kitchen off but the dust will find its way throughout the building. This month I will place a tote inside the Canteen for charitable donations for this month I would like to raise donations for Noah Project, let me know what other organizations we can donate to. Accepted donations include unopened pet food (especially canned), bleach, durable dog toys (like KONGs), and everyday supplies like leashes, collars, and clean towels.
Stove fundraiser: Rod and Steve are working hard to raise the money for the new stove in the kitchen. 15 August we will be doing a Rib Cook Off in the hall rules to follow. The dinner will be 5:00 to 7:00 with DJ Gordy for your dancing pleasure 7:00 to 10:00, mini bar will be used - cash bar, dinner will be $20 a person this is a fundraiser and hall event, the Canteen will be open for normal business.
The calendar is still open for activities so please submit any request to the House Committee. A reminder we are capped to a $200.00 limit to pay for entertainment at the post. As we move forward, continue supporting the activities we have at the Post. Volunteers are our most precious commodity. The Hall and Kitchen areas are off limits to members and guests when events are not scheduled. I encourage you to lend the Post assistance when needed. Fun facts July 3 is the start of The Dog Days of Summer, the 15 is National Hot Dog Day, and the 27 is take your Houseplants for a Walk Day. We are looking for a couple of volunteers that can help with Pull Tabs on Mondays and Wednesdays. If you are interested, please contact Dave Jones at 231-206-1925. POST BUILDING RENOVATIONS: With our successful approval of the "DMVA" Grant Application we will be undergoing some major renovations inside and outside of the Post Building. We ask for your patience while we undertake these major improvements and for your safety we ask that you stay clear of the work areas. Our goal is to successfully complete these projects in a timely and orderly manner.
KITCHEN STOVE FUNDRAISER: Unfortunately we did not receive approval from the "DMVA" grant application for a new Kitchen Stove. We are currently conducting a "New Stove Fundraiser" hoping to complete the purchase of a new Kitchen Stove. We look forward to any and all suggestions to garner funds for this much needed project. Please leave your written suggestions and ideas with the daily Bartenders.

EXPIRED DUES: Unfortunately we have 11 Post Members with Annual Dues that are unpaid and have expired. Please stop in to the Post and pay your Dues. The Annual Renewal Fee is $40.00.

MEMBERS AND GUESTS
You are responsible for cleaning up after yourselves and your guests when visiting the Post. Glasses, trash, spilled drinks, messes on the floor, etc. are all YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to clean up. Drink glasses should be returned to the Bar near the well station so the Bartenders can properly take care of them. Our Bartenders should not have to spend extra time at the end of their shift to clean up after members.
HALL AVAILABLE FOR RENT
Our 2520 SF hall with a capacity of 210 is available to rent for all occasions. The 418 SF Kitchen and LED Sign may also be negotiated for your event. LAST CALL
When Bartenders give "Last Call", it's "Last Call" for EVERYTHING, including drinks, Pull Tabs and Keno. Plan accordingly as you will be expected to cash out before the Bartender locks up. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Guests are welcome at the Post, but please remember that ONLY MEMBERS OF THE POST CAN PURCHASE ALCOHOL. IF YOU ARE NOT A CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF POST 8846, YOU ARE CONSIDERED A GUEST. All guests are required to sign the "Guest Book" upon entering the Canteen. This rule is in compliance with our Liquor License and all Bartenders have been instructed on strict enforcement and will help us maintain compliance with State Regulations.
